Job Description: Civil Engineer

12-Month Contract to Hire

Onsite in Anaheim, CA

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership and direction on various civil engineering projects. In this role, you will act as the Owner s Representative, overseeing engineering consultants, reviewing studies, and providing critical recommendations to support future projects. You will be responsible for utility system capital planning, equipment specification development, and the review of contract documents related to utility infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering and technical guidance to consultants for the preparation of civil studies, reports, plans, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Review hydrologic and hydraulic studies as the Owner s Representative and offer recommendations for future project planning.
  • Develop equipment and construction specifications for civil infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee utility system capital planning, focusing on system capacity, end-of-life equipment replacement, and the installation of utility infrastructure.
  • Review contract documents and calculations related to lift stations, treatment systems, and pipeline infrastructure.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical oversight for their projects.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in municipal, consulting, or related civil engineering fields.
  • Current Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of California.
  • Proven background in heavy civil engineering projects, including grading and land development.
  • Experience in the design and construction of underground utility systems (pipeline installation).
  • Expertise in construction administration and civil grading design.
  • Familiarity with civil utility system standards and codes.
  • Operational experience or background in standards development or plan review.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data management and editing in Esri ArcGIS.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering.
