Helmut Lang is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Designer, Woven's to join our team! The Senior Technical Designer provides technical support for Helmut Lang brand in woven, cut and sew categories. This person will work with team to achieve correct fits and design details from design inception through design intent approval, within the required calendar dates. Position will report to the Helmut Lang Technical Design Director.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with Design during prototype development to achieve design intent.
  • Conduct style detailed sketch to record construction details.
  • Create and maintain all Web PDM tech packs for Men’s and Women’s styles.
  • Understand and following up proto, sample, and production status charts in conjunction with the approval process.
  • Update all fit notes and revised size specs into PDM in a timely manner. Clearly communicate pattern spec and fit changes to in house pattern makers and vendors.
  • Ensure that all prototypes and production samples are reviewed upon arrival for trim and details.
  • Manage prototype and production sample review/fitting set up.
  • Update TP all pages include grading size chart when fit production samples.
  • Develop and set up in-house block library.
  • Adhering to all the quality control requirements and standards.
  • Staying up to date with the latest techniques in the development of garments.

Qualifications

  • 11+ years of related work experience in woven, cut and sew categories in high-end designer brands.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Strong technical knowledge of pattern making and garment construction.
  • A portfolio of your technical designs is mandatory
  • Ability to explain technical changes to the Junior Designer.
  • Phenomenal detailed oriented abilities.
  • Excellent problem solving and networking skills.
  • Great interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a team or individually as and when required.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Good time management abilities.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational and follow skills
  • Proficiency in Classic/WEB PDM
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in design software such as CAD (Gerber), Photoshop, Illustrator, and others.

Salary range: $95,000.00 -105,000.00*
