Speaks Law Firm is a well established personal injury firm with offices located in both Wilmington and Charlotte, North Carolina. We have recently experienced a lot of growth and are adding to our team of attorneys. Our firm is committed to client satisfaction; therefore candidates must have solid personal injury experience. We are looking for a North Carolina Licensed Attorney who is in early to mid-career. Acting as an assertive advocate for our clients, youwould be joining our team to handle auto liability, premises liability, and commercial claims.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Drafting lawsuits, drafting and responding to discovery, taking depositions, and conducting mediations and trials
  • Work closely within the litigation team to guide the work of the paralegals andsupport the senior managing attorneys for civil litigation
  • Provide legal counsel to clients by analyzing their needs and determining a proper course of action
  • Determine case strategies and solutions to serve client's needs after analysis
  • Research, draft and prepare appropriate legal documents for clients, such as briefs, motions, pleadings, and other correspondence as needed
  • Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings

Desired Qualifications:
  • 1-3years of Personal Injury Litigationexperience
  • Proficiency in writing, research, and negotiation
  • Experience with case management software and documentation
  • Communication, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and public speaking skills required
  • Must be able to handle complex caseloads
  • Must be an active member of the NCBA
  • Advanced computer skills working with legal research programs (Westlaw and Lexis) required
  • Superb negotiation skills

Compensation:

Annual base salary estimated to be $75,000 - $90,000 depending on qualifications and experience. This position is also eligible for an additional commission/incentive structure.
