Job Description
PRN 5pm to 7am
Under general supervision of the Center for Injury Prevention & Policy Manager, the Domestic Violence Intervention Specialist, is responsible for providing direct support, crisis intervention, case management and advocacy for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking that have been identified as victims in the medical center. Intervene with patients, providing assistance in safety planning, lethality assessment, advocacy, resource linkage, and emotional support to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking who are treated here at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and the University of Maryland Medical Center. Provides both practical advocacy services and support to domestic violence or sexual assault survivors and their children.

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work/ Social Science/ Health/ Human Service related field, required. 2 years’ work experience with victims of domestic violence may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- 2 years’ work experience with victims of domestic violence, preferred.
- Master’s degree in Social Work or health-related field, preferred.
- Experience working in an acute hospital setting, preferred
