The New York Post is currently seeking an experienced Photo Editor (part-time) to work within our expanding evening visual team (Weds-Sat, 6pm-1am ). The ideal candidate has a passion for breaking news, showbiz, politics, sports, visual storytelling, and has a vast knowledge of current events.

Responsibilities:

-Reacting to live breaking news.

-Researching live news, features, sports & political events.

-Photo editing, use of Adobe Photoshop.

-Completing photo requests for the editorial teams.

-Create visually appealing preview composites for the homepage.

-Pitching photos driven stories.

-Negotiating rates with agencies and freelance photographers.

The ideal candidate has:

-At least 3 years of experience with a multi-platform media digital/print brand.

-Excellent news judgment with knowledge of entertainment, news and sports.

-Possess a keen eye for engaging content and understanding the global photo marketplace.

-Proven research skills, including newsgathering and social media tools.

-Proficient in Adobe Photoshop.

-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
