Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and workflows using Snowflake, Python, or Spark
  • Develop and implement data models, structures, and architecture within Snowflake
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and other team members to understand data requirements and ensure data integrity and quality
  • Optimize and tune SQL queries and Snowflake performance for large-scale data processing
  • Work with AWS services such as S3, EC2, and Redshift to manage and support data infrastructure
  • Create and maintain documentation for data processes, pipelines, and system architecture
  • Stay current with new technologies and tools in the data engineering field and make recommendations for improvements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a data engineer or similar role
  • Proficiency in Snowflake data platform, including experience with data modeling, SQL, and performance optimization
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or Scala for data processing and pipeline development
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, EC2, Redshift, and EMR
  • Experience working with distributed computing frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, or Flink
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data integration best practices
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SnowPro or other Snowflake certifications
  • Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow or Apache NiFi
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance best practices in a cloud environment
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and delivery
  • Familiarity with containerization and microservices architectures
