About The Role & Program
The Food & Beverage Commercial Optimization Intern is a developmental leadership position that is responsible for active day-to-day management of hardline novelty product development planning and logistic support for the Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disney Resort, Aulani Resort and Disney Cruise Line. Areas of development in this internship role will include a variety of responsibilities inclusive of assortment financial tracking, inventory management, buy plans, product development submissions and approvals process for novelty product development, drive communication with vendors, the distribution centers and logistics departments. Additional responsibilities to include partnering with Walt Disney Imagineering, Marketing and Operations partners to ensure smooth strategy, product design, development and delivery.
The Novelty Souvenir Development Team will focus on developing interns through developmental tasks, regular learning assessments, and dedicated mentorship. This role will prepare the interns to improve their knowledge of product development for the novelty hardline business while maintaining strong connection to the Disney brand.

What You Will Do
- Developing skills to identify key business drivers for Food & Beverage Novelty hardline product
- Drive revenue managing inventory, buy plans and financial tracking for new initiatives
- Manage submissions and approvals process for novelty product development
- Partner closely and collaborate with cross-functional Commercial Business Transformations team members, and work together to drive and deliver daily results
- Participate in departmental meetings and communicate relevant information to Cast Members
- Support local projects and lead any potential impacts to the Guest experience
- Dedication to excellence, which includes interacting with Operations teams, the broader Food & Beverage team, Pricing partners and vendors to explore opportunities and resolve any issues
- Proven integrity and professionalism in a fast paced, high volume work environment
- Proven strength in collaboration and communication skills
- Proven analytical and strategic skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making
- Demonstrated strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills with attention to detail
- Availability and willingness to be flexible with work schedule
- Prior experience in Hardlines Product Development, Planning or Food & Beverage field
- Knowledge of product planning and/or analytics
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications inclusive of Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Basic knowledge of Smartsheet, Tableau, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Previous work experience with The Walt Disney Company
- You’ll be an undergraduate or a recent graduate (within 6 months of your graduation date)
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
- Must be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
- This internship is a primarily on-site position - Must be able to provide a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace
- Program length - The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 - June 2025
- Work details - Must be able to work FULL TIME hours (approximately 40 per week) for the duration of the internship
- Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
- Transportation - Must have reliable transportation to/from work
- Housing - Must provide own housing for the duration internship program
