Jr Systems Administrator

Description

Robert Half is looking for a IT Support/ Jr Systems Administrator to join our client's team in Larkspur California. The chosen candidate will be part of maintaining and supporting the infrastructure. This role offers a long term contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining Windows OS on both desktops and servers, along with VMware. Capable of handling complex IT issues and ensuring optimal user experience.\Providing high-level desktop support, including resolving hardware and software issues, supporting network connectivity problems, and aiding users in their routine operations.
• Undertaking routine system admin tasks like patching up software, backing up important data, updating system configurations, and managing security protocols.
• Monitoring the health and performance of the network, proactively identifying, diagnosing and resolving network issues in a timely manner.
• Demonstrating competence in basic scripting/programming and web development. Ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of web applications, troubleshoot problems, and optimizing performance.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a Systems Administrator role, preferably
• Proven experience with Windows OS, server management, and VMware.
• Proficient in handling and resolving desktop and server-level issues.
• Familiarity with standard system admin tasks and network performance monitoring.
• Basic proficiency with scripting/programming languages and web development.
• Bonus - knowledge and experience managing network devices such as firewalls, routers, and switches.
