Position Summary

Are you passionate about cutting-edge research in immunology and cancer biology? Join our dynamic team as a Staff Research Associate 1, where you'll play a key role in studying innate lymphocyte responses to cancer and infection. Working directly with the Principal Investigator (PI), you'll manage daily lab operations while contributing to an independent research project aligned with the lab's focus. This hands-on role involves maintaining tumor cell lines, performing molecular and cellular biology techniques, managing a mouse colony, and ensuring smooth lab operations, including equipment maintenance, inventory management, and supervising undergraduate workers. You'll also participate in weekly lab meetings, presenting your work and integrating it into the lab's broader research objectives. Salary & Compensation

Qualifications

  • 1 year Preparing Cell Cultures (Required)
  • 1 year How to mount pluripoten derived neurons onto coverslips (Required)
  • Experience in image capture and quantification of neuronal attributes (Required)
  • Experience managing Lab Stocks, ordering reagents and shipping out experimental reagents for collaborations. (Required)
  • Hands-on experience with cell culture, immunostaining, and laboratory organization techniques. (Required)
  • Proven ability to execute experiments and analyze results, with a strong capacity to identify technical problems and formulate logical conclusions. (Required)
  • Proficient in understanding and following scientific protocols with the ability to maintain clear, concise, and organized lab notebooks and protocols. (Required)
  • Strong interpersonal skills for productive interaction and collaboration with laboratory coworkers. (Required)
  • Knowledge of biological safety guidelines and animal handling protocols as per University standards. (Preferred)
  • Competence in ordering, organizing, and maintaining lab supplies and equipment inventory to ensure efficient lab operations. (Required)
  • Ability to conduct thorough literature searches, critically evaluate research papers, and effectively communicate scientific concepts. (Required)
  • Ability to manage and organize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced research environment. (Required)
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools and software commonly used in biological research. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team in a research setting. (Required)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biological Chemistry with at least two years of laboratory experience in biological methods, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)
