Our client, a $3 billion developer of fluid system products/assemblies/services, is seeking a full-time Application Engineer to work out of the Huntingdon Valley, PA area (4x/week onsite).

The work this client handles primarily supports the oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical, semiconductor, and transportation industries. They are a global leader with approximately 200 sales and service centers in 70 countries, 20 manufacturing facilities, and 5 global technology centers.

A "well-oiled" machine, pun intended.

What a successful Application Engineer at the firm looks like:

You will perform a variety of design/drafting activities including preparing and updating drawings for small and large projects, creating 2D assembly drawings, establishing guidelines and procedures for CAD data management, and managing project workload distribution within the Fabrication Department.

The Application Engineer coordinates the flow of information between sales, customers, and production to develop accurate proposal documentation. This position requires close communication with customers and the production team to ensure correct pricing, materials, and lead times are established.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret customer supplied drawings and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
  • Develop layouts with Design for Assembly in mind using SolidWorks.
  • Create detailed 2D drawings with bill of materials using SolidWorks.
  • Assist with large assembly projects toward the attainment of goals associated with all aspects of the quote and order fulfillment process.
  • Perform final inspection of completed assemblies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with 3rd party vendors to source customer specified non-firm components.
  • Clear and effective communication skills when communicating with multiple stakeholders, i.e., customer engineers, fabrication details to shop floor during assembly stage, etc.
  • Achieve all quality control objectives through effective use of process and quality control tools.
  • Ensure all assemblies & non-firm products and services are purchased and/or assembled in compliance with the Firm's Custom Solutions & Product Modification Policy.
  • Customer interaction during tours and progress review meetings.

Ideal Skills:

  • Accredited Engineering degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Daily interaction with other departments and outside suppliers in support of operations.
  • Highly proficient with SolidWorks.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments, prioritize workload and shift work activities to maintain schedules, project milestones, meet business needs, and exceed customer expectations.
  • Experience in fluid distribution, and analytical instrumentation systems is preferred.
  • Leadership through inter-departmental communication to meet schedules, quality standards, and resource management.
  • Strong and proven mechanical aptitude.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of working independently.
