Position Overview

This position in the Office of Advancement performs general human resources (HR) duties as part of a customer service-oriented HR team delivering HR services across a fast-paced organization of over 400 employees. Supports activities such as but not limited to, data reporting, a variety of HR related projects, compensation review/analysis, HR Information System (HRIS) (Workday) management and reporting, recruitment, onboarding/orientation, salary quotes, job offers, performance management, employee communications and engagement, offboarding, basic employee relations and administrative support for the Advancement HR team and other HR teams as needed. Acts as a resource to managers and employees on a wide variety of HR topics, guides individuals to tools and resources, and serves as a resident expert on Workday. Works closely with the HR Team to implement HR services aligned to the Centers of Expertise (CoE) and provides day-to-day operational support for HR functions and the overall delivery of HR services.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Utilizes HRIS (Workday) frequently for variety of HR transactions, troubleshooting issues, and report generation
  • Assists with and executes position updates, personnel changes, and organization structure changes
  • Coordinates Advancement’s student hiring in Workday
  • Supports employees, managers, and managers liaisons with Workday transactions by guiding to resources and recommending business tasks
  • Reviews and approves Workday transactions for appropriate documentation and proper business flow
  • Provides day-to-day operational support for HR functions and the overall delivery of HR services
  • Partners with HR centers of expertise and utilizes HR case management system (HR Connection/ServiceNow) for a variety of HR related transactions
  • Prepares, conducts, and submits necessary documentation for compensation reviews, salary quotes, market and equity adjustments, position updates, reclassifications, ADA accommodation requests, FMLA activity, vacation donation requests, etc., makes recommendations, and consults with managers on decisions aligned with unit and HR goals.
  • Supports onboarding and offboarding initiatives (i.e., new hire checklists, stay interviews, exit interviews, distribution email lists, etc.)
  • Monitors unit HR and Engagement email inboxes and responds to customer inquiries

  • Generates, reviews, and analyzes reporting/data to make recommendations on trends and improvement strategies for compensation/equity, employee engagement, retention, DEI initiatives, etc.
  • Generates, reviews, and analyzes reporting/data for compliance with internal audit and addresses any related issues (e.g. timekeeping and pay, employee certifications)
  • Supports the planning, strategy, and execution of various projects
  • Supports the year-round performance management processes, internal communication efforts, employee engagement initiatives, may assist with training, resources, and tools, and provides ad-hoc consultation/coaching to employees and managers as necessary
  • Collaborates with HR Business Partner, Talent Services, and/or Employee Labor Relations, in partnership with managers, to enhance the entire employee life cycle through creative modeling and implementation
  • Assists HR Director with activities related to advising the Advancement Inclusion Council (AIC)
  • Performs special projects under the direction of the HR Director

  • Acts as a resource to managers and employees on a wide variety of HR topics, guides individuals to tools and resources, and assists with performance issues
  • Interprets HR policies and approves exceptions to policy within delegated authority
  • Provides administrative support for the Advancement HR team for workforce planning, various projects (i.e. class and compensation, annual merit review cycle, performance management, onboarding, recruit to hire activities, Teams channels, staff engagement and communication, etc.), and other items as needed
  • Updates various recruitment websites, tools, and staffing spreadsheets
  • Serves as an administrator for performance management system
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of professional experience delivering a variety of HR services
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite
