We're on the lookout for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Building Performance Consultant Apprentice. This role offers a unique chance to learn from experienced professionals in the field while gaining hands-on experience in assessing and improving building efficiency while conducting energy audits. Our company also provides significant training directly to industry professionals, working in partnership with companies such as Nicor Gas and ComEd.

**Job Description:**

- Learn the principles of building science and performance analysis. Earn nationally recognized Building Performance Institute certifications on the job!

- Assist senior consultants in conducting comprehensive assessments of building systems and envelopes, using and managing advanced diagnostic equipment such as blower doors, fan flow meters, manometers, infrared cameras, and combustion analyzers.

- Utilize advanced software tools to model and simulate building performance under various conditions, and to generate reports.

- Collaborate with clients and project teams to develop customized strategies for optimizing energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and sustainability.

- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices in building performance.

**Requirements:**

- A strong interest in sustainable building design and construction.

- Building industry experience and familiarity with building systems, HVAC, and energy efficiency concepts.

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)

- Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.

- Valid driver s license, clean driving record, and willingness to commute in and around the Chicago area.

- Ability to carry up to 50 lbs of equipment and to work in outdoor, attic, or crawlspace environments.

- Although there is some administrative work involved, this is NOT primarily an office job; expect to stay moving and to be responsive to client requirements all over Chicago and the collar counties.
