Control Vision, Inc. (CVI) specializes in creating optical sensors for challenging environments and applications including 3D optical profilometry and metrology, optical imaging of high luminosity / high temperature processes, remote sensing, and the related mechanical design and controls for industrial, aerospace, and defense customers.

The Product Development and Production Team at CVI is responsible for the design, test, manufacture, and support of electrical subsystems to be utilized in extreme environments. The Team is currently searching for an entry-level engineer to work as an Electrical Engineer I.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performing electrical test of prototype and production electronics and troubleshooting to the component level utilizing schematics and test equipment
  • Identify, engage, and develop with Printed Circuit Board and Circuit Card Assembly suppliers
  • Create affordable, producible, and highly reliable design that meets the program s delivery and milestone needs
  • Perform design of printed circuit board from conception to manufacturing including library part creation, schematic capture, component placement, routing, gerber, and other engineering toolsets
  • System trade studies
  • Some travel is required
  • This is not a remote position

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Math, or related Science; Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree
  • Must be either currently pursuing a required degree or required degree must have been granted within the last 18 months
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required

Desired Skills:

  • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard with a 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
  • Capable of achieving alignment and collaboration between various disciplines in order to achieve organizational and programmatic objectives
  • Ability to work independently while establishing schedule and priority needs
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
  • Experience in a small company ( < 20 employees) environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles.
  • Proficiency in numerical computing environments such as MATLAB.
  • Knowledge /coursework of radar, signal & image processing, digital communications, GPS, navigation, control theories, and / or estimation theory.
  • Knowledge of physics, random variables and its application to modeling and analysis.
  • Experience with any of the following tools: Eagle, MATLAB, Solidworks, or equivalent engineering tools

Range of base pay for this role is $60,000 to $90,000 per year depending on skillset and level of experience.
