Job Description
Ameresco is seeking experienced a commercial HVAC Field Technician to join our team with a focus on installations and maintenance of commercial HVAC units on Renewable Energy Sites located across the United States, primarily throughout New England and the New York region. This is a fast-paced and rewarding job that is best suited for individuals who are responsible, self-directed, highly motivated, willing to travel, and looking to learn and grow in the Renewable industry. This position is up to 100% travel but candidates residing in the New England, New York area are preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining commercial cooling systems on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) focusing on installations including pipefitting of entire systems and diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing components.
- Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance.
- Performing additional maintenance or upgrades to out-of-season equipment.
- Responding to service calls in a timely manner, including emergency call out services.
- Timely and accurate completion of daily work reports.
- Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
- Be available for after-hours and weekend callouts/shifts as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or an equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience with HVAC maintenance in a commercial setting.
- Basic knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components including refrigeration systems.
- Level 2 or Universal EPA Certificate is required at time of hire.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and by email.
- Must be willing and able to comply with OSHA Standards.
- Available to travel up to 100%, especially during busy summer months.
- Driving to remote work sites as needed.
- Able to work outdoors in inclement weather and ambient temperatures.
- Physically able to lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds).
- Able to comply with FCC/EPA/OSHA Regulations.
- Must have a valid driver's license in good standing issued by state of residence.
