Manhattan-based global law firm is seeking a Benefits Specialist for a 3-month assignment. Possibility of extension or conversion to a salaried position.

Hourly pay rate: $40-60/hr depending on experience.

Onsite 3 days per week, 2 days remote

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain regular communication with employees and partners to address inquiries about benefits, enrollments, changes, special circumstances, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and compliance matters
  • Organize, process, and manage employee records and documentations
  • Assist with weekly employee benefits orientation
  • Manage benefits onboarding through the HRIS for employees and prepare benefits information and communications
  • Collaborate with benefits brokers to review and make recommendations for any potential insurance offerings/changes
  • Knowledge of FMLA and other leave programs and state/federal regulations a plus
  • Collaborate with the Director regarding firm wide benefits-related programs and initiatives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5+ years of experience in benefits & human resources, ideally out of a law firm or professional services
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel - creating spreadsheets, manipulating data, formulas and v-look ups (Pivot Tables a plus)
  • Experience with HRIS (ADP is preferred)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Team player and comfortable working independently as well
