Purpose of Position

As a member of the R&D Team, the Culinary Specialist supports culinary development in Mexican and Asian cuisine for Rana Meal Solutions under the direction and support of our Director of Culinary Innovation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a deep understanding of culinary trends, consumer preferences, and food science. This role involves developing new food products, improving existing ones, and ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

This position requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and project management skills. This individual will be expected to lead product development projects from concept to launch, manage timelines and budgets, and ensure that all regulatory requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Remains current and actively grows and demonstrates knowledge of the entire kitchen, supplies, ingredients, and preparation.
  • Partners with Marketing and Supply Chain teams on briefs targeted to the strategic alignment of company goals and objectives.
  • Develops gold standard products for the purpose of commercialization with vendor partners.
  • Lead best in class behaviors with a focus on operational excellence and quality assurance.
  • Plan and implemented operational procedures, processes, and systems.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, production, and quality assurance to bring innovative food concepts to life
  • Responsible for conducting market research, analyzing consumer feedback, and staying up-to-date with industry trends to ensure products remain competitive
  • Develop new food products from concept to launch.
  • Improve existing food products based on consumer feedback and market trends.
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, production, and quality assurance.
  • Ensure all products meet quality and safety standards.
  • Create and manage product development projects, including timelines and budgets.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations and product testing.
  • Analyze consumer feedback and make data-driven decisions.
  • Present new product concepts to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain product specifications and documentation.
  • Work with suppliers to source new ingredients and materials.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Participate in trade shows and industry events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key industry partners.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in the product development process.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve product development processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelors in Food Science, Culinary Arts, or related field.

Experience with product development with Mexican and Asian Cuisine

Proficient in knife skills, food preparation, recipe documentation, gram work and cleaning.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Communicate and collaborate effectively with the team.

A strong attention to detail, along with the ability to discover potential risks.

Work independently with a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skulls

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Experience with market research and consumer analysis.
