Environmental Engineer

Location: Boise, ID

Position Summary:

As part of the EHS team, you will be responsible for ensuring environmental regulatory compliance while protecting company assets ( people, property, time) that are consistent with the site’s greater business strategy and delivering cost effective processes. You will represent the company interests to internal and external stakeholders on matters pertaining to Environmental regulatory compliance and asset protection and ensuring environmental resources are adequate to accomplish the organization’s objectives.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement robust environmental programs to ensure compliance with applicable state, federal, and local requirements.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to achieve compliance and sustainability goals
  • Interpret regulations for applicability and develop effective compliance plans with appropriate operational groups.
  • Prepare regulatory and internal reports; quantify environmental impacts, and participate in regulatory inspections
  • Manage Stormwater General and Construction Permits, Spill control Countermeasures and Control Plan, and conduct inspections as required
  • Manage hazardous waste program, schedule shipments, and conduct inspections
  • Perform compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and conformance with ISO14001. Perform training of team members, as necessary
  • Support other environmental compliance programs as needed
  • Represent the company in a professional and effective manner to both internal and external parties
  • Respond to environmental issues and carry/answer the on-call phone when assigned
  • Familiarity/working knowledge of CAA, RCRA, CERCLA, CWA ( NPDES, MSGP, CGP, SWPPP, SPCC) ISO14001
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent spreadsheet abilities, adept at learning new programs

Education:

  • Associates degree or equivalent from a Technical/Trade School with a certificate in any Bachelor’s Degree: Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or Environmental-related discipline; master’s degree preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in a related field desired.
