Responsibilities
Team Management and Development: Lead and manage the development team in Mexico, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Support the professional growth of team members and ensure the team is staffed with individuals who meet the role's requirements. Develop and track KPIs to continuously improve productivity and performance.
Liaison with Product Teams and Leadership: Serve as a technical advisor to product teams and leadership, offering insights and recommendations to ensure that development efforts are aligned with business goals and user needs.
Technical Leadership: Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to define the technical direction and architectural decisions necessary to implement the product roadmap.
Challenge Triage: Identify and quickly resolve challenges within and between teams that may impact delivery timeliness, quality, team morale, or communication. Proactively report issues to leadership to maintain transparency and receive support as needed.
Mentorship: Recruit, mentor, and guide developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
Adherence to SDLC: Ensure all development processes follow the established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), while promoting best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as product, IT, security, and operations, to ensure integrated and efficient software development processes.
Stay Technologically Informed: Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in software development and encourage the team to adopt new, beneficial technologies and methodologies.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Senior Software Developer.
5+ years in a Development Manager role.
Senior-level experience managing SaaS software development teams.
Proven track record of successful project delivery.
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.
Experience hiring, onboarding, and developing engineering teams in-country.
Deep technical background with a solid understanding of software development processes and methodologies, along with a hands-on approach to engineering work.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience implementing and managing cloud infrastructure, services, and deployment pipelines.
Knowledge of secure coding, site reliability, and SDLC best practices.
Fluent in English and Spanish.
Experience working with teams across multiple countries is a plus.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Location
Hermosillo or Guadalajara, Mexico. Minimum of 3 days per week in-office.
