RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client, a leading industry organization, is looking to hire a Senior Systems Engineer (HPC, Linux, Storage) based in Boston, MA, with the flexibility for fully remote work.
Summary:
In this key role, you will support cutting-edge research storage and computing services. You'll bring research pipelines from prototype to production, ensuring stability, scalability, and performance by leveraging your expertise in both hardware and software integration.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design HPC solutions for research, ensuring smooth production and reliability of workloads (e.g., NGS pipelines)
* Serve as the main contact for stakeholders, optimizing HPC applications and resources
* Troubleshoot and monitor HPC workloads, implement fixes, and enhance runtime conditions
* Collaborate on compute resource configurations and optimize usage through metrics analysis
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
* 7+ years of related experience
* Strong knowledge of computer architecture, Linux systems, distributed filesystems (NFS, BeeGFS), and ZFS
* Knowledge of HPC scheduling tools (GridEngine, SLURM, LSF) and system administration
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
