  • Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Pulmonary Intermediate PCU **Job Specialty:** Progressive Care Unit (PCU) **Job Duration:** 13 Weeks **Shift:** 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years in Intermediate/Step-down **License:** Kentucky RN License **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIH **Must-Have:** - Proficiency in cardiac monitoring - IV therapy skills (including PICC line management and dressing changes) - Experience in administering IV medications (antibiotics and drips including heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, cardizem) - Tracheostomy management **Job Description:** - Provide comprehensive care within the Pulmonary Intermediate PCU - Work effectively in a team-oriented environment, maintaining a positive attitude and flexibility - Employ critical thinking skills in high-pressure situations - Deliver patient care with compassion and professionalism, incorporating humor and empathy to build trust - Handle equipment such as BiPAPs, High Flow systems, and telemetry monitors - Manage patients on BiPAP teams with a patient ratio of up to 3:1 - Participate in rotation, potentially floating to other PCU or Med-Surg units as needed - Maintain adherence to the dress code: Galaxy Blue tops with blue or black bottoms This position offers the opportunity to work in an academic medical center renowned for its contributions to medical advancements and innovations.
