In your role as a Junior Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications. You will collaborate closely with our team in an Agile framework to enhance the quality and efficiency of data processes that support crucial healthcare initiatives.
Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include
- Designing and guiding the development of ETL pipelines utilizing Apache NiFi and Java Spring Boot to process and integrate extensive datasets from diverse sources.
- Leveraging your expertise in Java programming, Spring Boot, and AWS Big Data technologies like Redshift and Athena to construct scalable data solutions.
- Enhancing the performance and scalability of existing ETL scripts.
- Working collaboratively with data scientists and machine learning engineers to facilitate data preparation for modeling and analysis.
- Generating and maintaining comprehensive data documentation, which includes database design, configuration, and performance reports.
- Upholding data integrity, security, and adherence to data governance standards.
- Contributing to a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge and fostering continuous learning.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Hands-on experience with Apache NiFi.
- Proficiency in Java and Java Spring Boot Microservices.
- Familiarity with AWS, Redshift, Athena, and Big Data technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD processes.
- Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
- 2+ years of experience for Bachelor's degree holders or no experience for Master's degree holders.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
- Previous experience with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) or other federal healthcare programs is advantageous.
