Job Overview

We are in search of a knowledgeable paralegal with a minimum of three years of experience in family law, specifically within California jurisdiction. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to manage deadlines proficiently, advance projects efficiently, and offer compassionate support to clients through sensitive personal circumstances. We value self-motivation, attention to detail, and effective task management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and prepare pleadings, legal documents, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate financial disclosures and other documentation with clients.
  • Maintain and manage cloud-based case files.
  • Schedule and calendar court deadlines and meetings.
  • Proofread documents, prepare filings, and e-file materials as necessary.
  • Keep clients updated on their legal matters and progress.
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned, including cross-training and administrative support.

Required Skills

  • Over three years of experience in a family law practice in California.
  • Mandatory Paralegal Certificate.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and CFLR suite.
  • Familiarity with family law Judicial Council Forms and court calendaring.
  • A professional demeanor with a strong commitment to ethics, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • A warm, caring disposition coupled with a positive attitude.
  • Experience with DissoMaster, Lawyaw, and relevant law practice software.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of experience in California family law.
  • Holding a Paralegal Certificate is essential.
  • Proven experience in administrative support within a law firm is preferred.
  • Possession of a Legal Project Management Certificate or relevant experience is a significant advantage.
  • Availability from 9 AM to 5 PM PST, Monday through Friday.
