RLS Legal Counsel is responsible for providing comprehensive legal support to RLS’s operations and initiatives. This role will manage the company's legal affairs, working closely with various internal teams to resolve legal issues efficiently and cost-effectively. The ideal candidate is proactive, practical, and focused on protecting the organization's assets, operations, and reputation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and transactions with key customers and suppliers, including GPOs, contractors, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with HR to address labor and employment matters, engaging local counsel as needed.
  • Support the sales team by identifying opportunities and assisting with business growth initiatives.
  • Provide legal guidance on sales agreements, licensing, service contracts, and regulatory matters.
  • Review advertising, promotional materials, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manage outside counsel and legal spend as necessary, and coordinate internal resources for litigation or dispute resolution.
  • Deliver legal training to teams on contracts, compliance, and regulatory issues.
  • Provide healthcare compliance advice and assist with applications for business licenses.
  • Support due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, and other business opportunities.
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • JD with active bar membership, preferably with dual qualifications in civil and common law.
  • Significant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, particularly in the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong contract negotiation skills and ability to resolve legal issues quickly.
  • Experience with labor, employment, regulatory, and real estate matters.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to ethical practices.

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
