We are seeking a temporary Human Resources professional to assist our client, an Environmental Nonprofit’s HR team during a period of transition. The role could start quickly and will be for 3-6 months, with the possibility of extension depending on organizational needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in HR administration, the ability to hit the ground running, and the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.

This role is primarily remote with one in-office day per week in their Washington, DC office located in Dupont Circle. Additional in-person days may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support for HR functions, including orientation and offboarding paperwork.
  • Assist in the background preparation of various HR projects, such as maintaining employee files and handling other administrative duties.
  • Support the team during the implementation of a new Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
  • Collaborate with other team members to manage administrative workflows and ensure smooth day-to-day HR operations.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks without requiring detailed oversight.
  • Act as a backup for HR team during this transition period.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous HR administrative experience is required, with an understanding of HR processes.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HR systems is a plus but not required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Customer service-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adjust to shifting priorities.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to contribute to team efforts and generate ideas.
