Sr Software Engineer

Client location: Santa Monica, CA

Work location: Santa Monica, CA or Glendale, CA or Anaheim, CA or Seattle, WA, New York, NY or Orlando, FL - Hybrid schedule (3 days onsite/week)

Duration of Assignment: 19 months

W2 Only Position

We re changing the world of streaming video and looking for a dedicated Senior Software Engineer to be a key contributor to the team while driving the technical design, implementation, and improvement of services.

Responsibilities:

• This role involves a range of responsibilities related to software development and management within the Content Metadata domain.
• Design well-architected solutions and deliver on them with code that is easy to develop and maintain.
• Lead technical design and implementation of new features.
• Participate in project phasing and delivery together with your manager, team lead and Technical Project Managers.
• Identify areas of improvement in our systems and workflows.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
• Take a user-centric approach to implementation.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in (in order of importance):

1. Java & Python.
2. Relational databases (MySQL, Postgres), and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB).
3. Event or pub/sub driven architecture (Kafka, Kinesis).
4. Solid understanding of AWS (Lambda, Kinesis, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, etc.).
5. Deep understanding of core CS fundamentals, OOP principles, data structures, and algorithms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Graph databases (Neo4j), Terraform and GraphQL is a big plus.

Required Education:

• Must have a Stem Degree plus 5 years EXP
