Minimum
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
Proven experience in data engineering, particularly in a utility or energy sector environment
Strong expertise in OSIsoft PI, including architecture, system integration, and data management
Proficiency in SQL and experience with NoSQL databases, as well as familiarity with common data science toolkits
Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools like Apache Airflow, NiFi, or similar
Excellent programming skills, particularly in Python, Java, or Scala
Ability to work independently and to take accountability
Ability to be creative
Ability to communicate in a brief and to the point manner
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SQL
Desired
3-5 years of experience within any area of Electric Operations in the electric utility industry
2-3 years SAP experience in Asset and Work Management
Responsibilities
Design and implement robust data pipelines to integrate a variety of data sources, including OSIsoft PI systems, into a centralized analytics platform.
Develop, maintain, and optimize real-time data flows from digital substation systems, ensuring high data quality and accessibility.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute data strategies that support digital substation objectives.
Create and manage databases and data storage solutions that are secure, scalable, and efficient.
Utilize advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to predict and solve complex operational challenges in the utility sector.
Prepare data for predictive and prescriptive modeling to enhance substation asset management and reliability.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and data governance practices.
