Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Cloud DevOps Engineer with over 8 years of experience to support our Netezza project in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing cloud infrastructure on AWS, proficiency in scripting and programming languages like Python and Bash, and a deep understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform. The role requires expertise in CI/CD pipeline management using tools like GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, and Argo CD, as well as containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing our cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring high availability and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, including EC2 instances and Kubernetes clusters, to support the Netezza project and related data engineering initiatives.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) scripts using Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of AWS resources and services.
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, and Argo CD to support continuous integration and delivery of applications and infrastructure changes.
Utilize containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes to build, deploy, and manage scalable, high-performance applications and services.
Write and maintain scripts in Python and Bash to automate repetitive tasks, enhance system performance, and improve operational efficiency.
Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, security, and cost-efficiency, using AWS tools and third-party monitoring solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, architects, and software developers, to design and implement cloud-based solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to production systems.
Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies, DevOps tools, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve the organization s cloud infrastructure and processes.

Qualifications:
8+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure management and automation.
Extensive experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, RDS, and Kubernetes clusters.
Proven expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform for managing and automating AWS resources.
Strong proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python and Bash.
Deep understanding of CI/CD concepts and hands-on experience with tools like GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, and Argo CD.
Proficiency in containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, for building and deploying scalable applications.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in cloud environments.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Skills:
Experience in the financial services or data-intensive industries.
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or other relevant cloud certifications.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or AWS CloudWatch.
Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in cloud environments.
