Position: VP, Strategic Management Office

Location: Lawrenceville, NJ

The Strategic Management Office, VP holds a pivotal position within BMS, responsible for centralization of strategic KPIs and continuous improvement efforts that align with BMS's strategic goals. This role involves extensive oversight and governance to ensure best practices and project initiatives are executed with sense of urgency and accountability across BMS. This position is expected to create and define KPIs that deliver on BMS Strategic goals, this includes manage project finances, establish best practices, and foster strong working relationships across various geographies and teams. This leader is also tasked with deploying project management capabilities across the enterprise.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Strategic planning: Lead the strategic planning efforts for projects and define the project management methodologies used across the company.
  • Overseeing project initiatives: Supervise project activities, ensuring they align with BMS's strategic goals.
  • Developing project management methodologies: Responsible for creating and implementing project management processes that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Managing project finances: Oversees the financial aspects of projects, ensuring they stay within budget and resources are allocated appropriately.
  • Building relationships: Establish and maintain strong working relationships across various geographies and organizations is key to the role.
  • Governance: Ensure that project management procedures and governance are well-established and maintained throughout the organization.
  • Resource management: Manage and allocates resources effectively across projects, based on priorities and schedules.
  • Risk and change management: Oversee business administration, risk management, and change management related to projects.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in business administration, economics, or a related field; Project Management Professional (PMP)/Sigma Certification a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic planning or consulting, preferably in biopharmaceutical industry.
  • At least five years experience in a leadership/supervisory role, including managing different key stakeholder (board and LT)
  • Experience with strategic planning and governance of project portfolios is expected.
  • Strong attention to details and technicalities is crucial for overseeing complex project portfolios.
  • Understanding of enterprise-wide business functions.
  • The ability to manage and allocate resources effectively across projects according to priorities and schedules while mitigating risk.
  • Deep understanding of BMS Strategy and external industry landscape & perspectives
