They are seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with deep experience in the transportation industry to lead their finance function and support the company’s aggressive growth plans. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in managing financial operations for transportation platforms and have a track record of success in a private equity-backed environment. This role requires relocation to the Northeast U.S. (NJ, PA, CT, or NY area).

Position Overview

The CFO will play a pivotal role in leading all financial aspects of the company, from operational accounting and financial reporting to strategic financial planning. As the financial leader, the CFO will be responsible for ensuring the company’s financial health, managing relationships with private equity investors, and driving key financial decisions to support growth initiatives. This hands-on role involves collaborating closely with the executive team, providing high-level financial insights, and ensuring financial stability during periods of transition and expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, treasury, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s long-term growth and profitability goals.
  • Work closely with the CEO and executive team to drive financial performance and align business strategies with financial objectives.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to ensure the company meets its financial targets.
  • Provide strategic insights into transportation industry-specific financial metrics and KPIs to drive profitability and efficiency.
  • Manage relationships with private equity investors, ensuring timely and transparent financial reporting.
  • Lead M&A activity, including due diligence, financial modeling, and integration for acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Oversee capital structure optimization and ensure adequate liquidity for operations and investments.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and GAAP accounting standards.
  • Build and manage a high-performing finance team to support the company’s growth and financial initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as a CFO or senior financial leader in the transportation industry, with a track record of managing financial operations for a platform company.
  • Prior experience working in a private equity-backed environment is required.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning skills.
  • Hands-on experience in M&A transactions, including due diligence and integration.
  • Expertise in financial reporting, treasury management, and financial compliance.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Willingness to relocate to the Northeast U.S. (NJ, PA, CT, or NY area).
