TITLE: AGILE SCRUM MASTERS

1.1. SCOPE OF WORK:

SMUD is seeking up to two (2) experienced Scrum Masters to provide scrum master services, to support the implementation of SMUD s customer technology platforms. The contractors will be expected to apply SAFe principles and enhance effective team performance. Each contractor will support two of SMUD s agile teams. Contractors will lead scrum teams through all team ceremonies and activities to ensure delivery of high-quality technical solutions. Participate across the agile community in scrum or scrum ceremonies and be able to represent the status of efforts and health of team.

SMUD needs two (2) Scrum Master resources assigned to this task at any given point, during this two-year engagement. Each leased employee scrum master resource is limited to 960 hours of work under this Task Authorization. The awarded vendor is expected to present SMUD with at least two (2) replacement Scrum Master resources for evaluation every five months. SMUD will evaluate the resources proposed and will send an approval to the vendor in writing, indicating which approved resources will replace existing leased employees after they have worked 960 hours (six months full-time). This will ensure a seamless transition of leased employee resources every six months

The successful vendor will be expected to facilitate transition of knowledge between existing and replacement contractors, during transitional periods.

Mandatory Requirements

1) Scrum Master Certification

2) 3 years experience using Scaled Agile Framework- SAFe

3) Experience identifying impediments and advocating for the resolution/mitigation of the impediments.

Technical Requirements

1) Expert knowledge of Atlassian JIRA and Align work management tools

2) Ability to create and manage agile team backlog, sprint plans, roadmaps and productivity reporting within the work management tools

3) Experience leading agile ceremonies including team stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, PI Planning ceremonies, team retrospective sessions

4) Ability to coordinate and link test cases and testing results with development user stories and tasks

• Strong understanding of development best practices
• Experience as a Release Train Engineer
• Strong communication skills
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Assumptions

It is expected that the contractor will be entirely remote. Contractor musts have reliable internet, work exclusively within the United States, and be made available for any meetings generally scheduled between the hours 9 am and 4 pm Pacific Time.
