About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, the Director of Mining will be responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic plans to expand our consulting services within the US mining industry market, with a focus on mine closure, reclamation, water management, and water treatment projects; provide the same support, as appropriate to large industrial site management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic plans to expand our consulting services within the US mining industry market, with a focus on mine closure, reclamation, water management, and water treatment projects; provide the same support, as appropriate to large industrial site management.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with existing and potential clients, and negotiate contracts to achieve project capture and revenue targets.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to anticipate client needs and identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, seminars, and other networking events to promote our services and enhance our visibility within the mining community.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, environmental science, and regulatory compliance, to leverage internal expertise and deliver integrated solutions to clients.
  • Other duties as required.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Advanced degrees and professional licenses/credentials are desirable.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in consulting services within the mining industry, with a focus on site closure, reclamation, water management, and/or water treatment projects.
  • Demonstrated experience consulting on a strategic level, with project delivery background and a strong working knowledges of the challenges facing site owners and regulators in the closure of affected mine and industrial sites.
  • Proven track record of project development, including identifying and pursuing new opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and negotiating contracts.
  • Strong technical expertise with a focus in one or more of the following areas; mine closure planning, reclamation design, water management strategies, water treatment design/implementation and site care & maintenance.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience building and managing high-performing teams in a consulting or professional services environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support client engagements and business development efforts.
