Job Description
We are currently seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer for a dynamic automation integrator based in the Kalamazoo, MI area. This is a direct hire position with minimal overnight travel required. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Allen Bradley PLC Programming and some exposure to Siemens systems. A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred, though candidates with varying levels of PLC experience will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Integrate and program electrical systems for advanced automation machinery.
- Utilize SCADA for efficient data communication across different machines.
- Design and program Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs.
- Troubleshoot and optimize control systems to resolve issues.
- Retrofit existing systems and integrate new control technologies.
- Incorporate robotics and vision systems into automation solutions.
- Commission new machinery and conduct occasional service work.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLCs, including MicroLogix and RSLogix 5000, Factory Talk, HMI, AutoCAD, and SCADA.
- Experience with Data Control Systems; Siemens experience is advantageous.
- A BSEE Degree is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Robotics experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude for hands-on tasks.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or within a team.
- Willingness to travel up to 5% for short trips during the week, with weekends mostly at home.
