We have an opening for a Mechanical Engineer to develop and implement mechanical features and component packaging for a range of hybrid electric vehicle solutions. You will work as part of a cross-functional team to deliver digital and physical prototypes and technology demonstrations for both commercial and defense applications. You will have accountability for engineering, design and testing.

To be considered for this role, the candidate must be a U.S. Person , as defined by U.S export control regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, implement and test mechanical systems for prototype vehicles and technology demonstrations.
  • Apply engineering principles and judgement to make design decisions and solve complex problems.
  • Lead technical reviews as needed, contribute to design strategy development and take part in customer reviews.
  • Work with the Director of Engineering and business development lead to plan and scope mechanical aspects of projects.
  • Contribute to the Pilot business strategy to ensure we have the proper resources, tools and skills to deliver mechanical aspects of future programs.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience of mechanical systems design, analysis and testing.
  • CAD expertise.
  • DFMEA experience.
  • Functional testing and validation experience in planning and execution.
  • Prototype vehicle systems design and build experience.
  • Experience of working with advanced automotive systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to prepare technical documents and presentations.
  • Experience working with customers as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Master s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related subject.
  • 10+ years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience of working with Hybrid Electric vehicles.
  • CAD expertise in Creo.
  • Modelling and simulation expertise.
  • Ability to contribute to technical discussions across a range of disciplines.
  • Previous Military Service or experience working with the Department of Defense.
