Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to make a significant impact? Our client, a leading EPCM company based in Calgary, is seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineer to join their team.
Role Overview: Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in electrical engineering design within project teams. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing electrical systems such as power distribution, generators, lighting, and control systems, ensuring compliance with codes and client specifications
- Performing electrical calculations, including load flow, short circuit analysis, and protective device coordination
- Developing and reviewing detailed engineering drawings, schematics, single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and layouts
- Preparing Bills of Material
- Conducting site inspections and witnessing the commissioning of electrical and control system installations
- Writing technical reports and interacting professionally with clients
- Identifying and implementing process improvements
- Managing small projects within budget, scope, and schedule
Requirements
- Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with APEGA
- Minimum of 5 years of professional electrical engineering experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD (Microstation experience is an asset)
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office applications
- Strong problem-solving skills with minimal supervision
- Excellent time management and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of commercial, industrial, and utility environments
- In-depth knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution and the Canadian Electrical Code
- Experience with industrial and utility power systems, underground distribution, and hands-on field experience with power delivery equipment is an asset
