Partner Staffing is currently working with our client seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to join their leadership team.

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to make a significant impact? Our client, a leading EPCM company based in Calgary, is seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineer to join their team.


Role Overview: Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in electrical engineering design within project teams. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing electrical systems such as power distribution, generators, lighting, and control systems, ensuring compliance with codes and client specifications
  • Performing electrical calculations, including load flow, short circuit analysis, and protective device coordination
  • Developing and reviewing detailed engineering drawings, schematics, single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and layouts
  • Preparing Bills of Material
  • Conducting site inspections and witnessing the commissioning of electrical and control system installations
  • Writing technical reports and interacting professionally with clients
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Managing small projects within budget, scope, and schedule

Requirements
  • Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with APEGA
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional electrical engineering experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD (Microstation experience is an asset)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office applications
  • Strong problem-solving skills with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of commercial, industrial, and utility environments
  • In-depth knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution and the Canadian Electrical Code
  • Experience with industrial and utility power systems, underground distribution, and hands-on field experience with power delivery equipment is an asset
