We are seeking an experienced and talented Laboratory Soils/Materials Technician to join our Southern California team for our San Diego office. This is a non-exempt position.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory tests on construction materials (moisture content, compaction, sieves, hydrometers, atterberg limits, corrosion suites, and expansion index, concrete flexural strength, etc.)
  • Apply basic computer data templates, interpret test data, and prepare reports of test data
  • Calibrate laboratory equipment and maintain calibration schedule and records

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 plus years in Civil Engineering or lab testing, preferred
  • Caltrans Certification
  • Strong math skills
  • Willingness to work in a soils environment which may require getting dirty
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and operate hand-controlled testing equipment
  • Must have a valid driver s license and a good driving record
