EBD Services, a Project Management & Consulting Engineering firm, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team! Our firm delivers strategic planning, program & project management, and engineering design solutions in the built environment. With an ability to provide MEP design services to sectors such as Healthcare, Public, Defense, Airport, High Rise, Life Sciences, Commercial Office, Data Centers there is an opportunity for all backgrounds. In addition to our engineering practice, EBD offers construction project management services for our clients with a desire to fill out their construction management team with MEP subject-matter experts.
EBD has two commuter friendly offices located on the north and south ends of the greater Seattle area and offers a hybrid work arrangement, following a consistent in-office training period for new hires.

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer:
  • Work collaboratively with diverse project teams and provide interdisciplinary collaboration across AE design stakeholders.
  • Support and manage project expectations including project milestone delivery, design coordination and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Provide mechanical and plumbing design through the stages of concept design to construction documentation.
  • Perform construction administration services including contractor support of RFIs, submittal approvals and occasional site visits / punch walks.
  • Perform calculations to support design decision-making as it pertains to code requirements and recognized guidelines.
  • Create, draft and model design markups, schedules, site plans, specifications, details and diagrams in 3D and 2D modeling software.

What the successful Mechanical Engineer will have:
  • Project and time management. The role will expect the applicant to support multiple projects that have independent schedules and independent delivery requirements.
  • Effective communication. The applicant should be well spoken and able to effectively communicate the initiative of the design and impacts from the decision-making process.
  • When applicable, the role would require effective communication in presenting technical subject matter to an audience of both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Interpersonal IQ. The role requires the individual to interact with EBD staff, client, architect, contractor and owner. An ability to communicate through the lens of your audience is critical to maintaining satisfaction across the entire stakeholder team.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Experience working under a Professional Engineer with design experience in Healthcare, Aviation, Federal/Military, High Rise, Life Sciences, Commercial Office, and Data Centers vertical markets.
  • A strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing design systems.
  • A self-starter attitude that is committed to learning and growing in the role.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software including Revit and AutoCAD MEP.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • EIT certification and working towards PE certification, PE Registration is a plus.

Compensation:
  • $90,000 - $120,000 per year, DOE
