Job Description

The House of Commons Digital Services and Real Property Service Area is currently looking to staff the position of Cyber Intelligence and Threat Hunting Lead.

As part of the team, you will be responsible for defining and establishing the full scope of external and internal IT security threat environment, and for developing the mechanisms and processes for the ongoing and daily capture of risk information to assess the existing and evolving threats and vulnerabilities that could impact on the House Administration and Members critical technology, services and information assets. This includes early detecting, investigating and remediating threat more quickly by uncovering hidden patterns and connections.

In addition, you will be responsible for uncovering time-sensitive insights about cyber threat actors and their motivations to attempt to disrupt current threats and enhance security measures against future ones. You will also be responsible for developing and managing partnerships and collaborative information sharing on evolving risks and threats from identified cyberattacks, virus, malware, etc., and for guiding the positioning of the IT security infrastructure and tools to ensure the optimal defensive posture against potential attacks or internal client practices that are unsafe, intrusive, or unauthorized.

Qualifications

Education :

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or other related fields, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience in the field of technology

Experience :

  • Experience in leading vulnerability assessments and threat analyses to identify, validate and weigh risks in the context of known threats and risk probabilities;
  • Deep understanding of APT and actor landscape;
  • Experience aggregating and analyzing activity logs;
  • Experience in development of IT security policies and standards;
  • Experience in providing guidance and advice (orally and written) to management relating to IT products associated programs, initiatives or issues;
  • Experience in resolving complex problems and issues related to cyber risks & threats and researching and developing solutions.

Assets :

  • Professional experience working within a red and/or blue team;
  • Experience working with malware;
  • Professional certification in cybersecurity such as but not limited to: CISSP, CEH, OSCP.
