Summary

The Director of Process Improvement is responsible for leading enterprise efforts to develop and improve business processes and practices. The selected candidate will partner with leaders and cross-functional teams across all business units to increase operational efficiencies, streamline workflows, and help establish a process and process documentation culture across the organization. This critical role requires experience in creating and maintaining business process repositories, leading Kaizen events, establishing Green Belt (or equivalent) programs, and collaborating with training teams to develop internal curriculum that enhances organizational capabilities in documentation and process maturity.

Essential Job Functions

  • Collaborate with Product and Project Management to integrate business process reviews and improvements into all product briefs and enterprise initiatives
  • Develop and manage documentation templates and standards, establishing a business process management system that includes revision control, ownership, and approvals
  • Evaluate existing processes and workflows to pinpoint opportunities for enhancing efficiency, effectiveness, and quality
  • Collaborate with executive leadership teams to prioritize improvement initiatives based on potential impact and overall strategic importance
  • Define KPIs to measure the success of individual and collective improvement initiatives
  • Develop and curate training materials and curriculum that will increase the organization's capabilities to measure, analyze, and improve business processes
  • Train, coach and mentor Green Belts, sponsors, and champions following prescribed courses and monitor projects throughout the entire process, ensuring timely and successful completion
  • Establish strong team relationships, building trust and open communication regarding project issues and results
  • Model our core tenets or DNA: deliver outstanding customer service, be easy to work with, follow the rules, and help drive a culture of zero resignations

Success Scorecard

  • Create an enterprise business process repository and/or create requirements, specifications, and assist with the implementation for business process management system
  • Establish a green belt program (improvement community) that develops high-quality change and process improvement practitioners within each business unit
  • Train the community on how to deconstruct complex business processes into discrete activities and flows and analyze for opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency
  • Earn the trust and confidence of leadership teams across the organization
  • Lead the efforts to incorporate continuous improvement mindsets and methodologies into the broader culture
  • Effectively manage stakeholders and expectations across and through complex organizational dynamics
  • Quantify the business impact of process improvement initiatives through dashboards, reports, and metrics

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience leading process improvement, change management, or quality improvement business transformations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of driving measurable improvements in operational performance
  • Expert-level knowledge of relevant software tools and technologies for process mapping, data analysis, and performance tracking
  • Black Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma (or equivalent)

Base Salary
$140,000 $175,000 USD
