Avionics Design Engineer

This position provides for Avionics & Cabin Equipment/Systems design, certification, and installation functions and associated documentation. He/she will assist the engineering team in engineering projects.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Efficient and timely completion of day to day business objectives in strict accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements and company procedures.

2) Support modification and related certification timelines to coincide with project completion objectives.

3) Support the timely organized completion of all facets of any given aircraft project to provide for the customer s complete satisfaction.

4) Ensure the professional and comprehensive recordation of alteration data and related document retention files.

5) Assist as necessary the pricing/downtime quotations for avionics and cabin equipment system modifications.

6) Design and develop installation drawings and other supporting documentation such as ICA, AFMS, Weight and balance documentation, etc.

7) Maintain productive working relationships with other maintenance and engineering personnel as necessary during aircraft modifications.

QUALIFICATIONS

1) Associate Degree preferred but not required in Avionics System and Technology.

2) Airframe and Powerplant Certification preferred but not required

3) Minimum of three years experience in avionics systems. Understanding of avionics design and related certification activities involving 14 CFR Part 25 aircraft, including in-depth experience with supplemental type certification and related FAA ACO protocol and procedures

4) Ability to use and understand technical orders, schematics and wiring diagrams

5) Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Regulatory requirements applicable to functions under the management responsibilities of this position
