The Project Engineer is responsible for the management of multiple projects in terms of scope, timely delivery, quality, and compliance in a technical/engineering environment. This position interfaces with respective customer departments and local suppliers to drive project execution.

Responsibilities:

- Use creativity to find cost-saving opportunities within locomotive maintenance/repair programs for electrical components including cards and panels.

- Manage long term planning to meet the project milestone fulfillment.

- Drive cross-functional teams to execute on critical project milestones, including but not limited to: design reviews, material orders, prototype builds, field and bench testing, etc.

- Support of concept design, detailed design, and design analysis for locomotive systems and maintenance processes.

- Interface/work with shop personnel during developmental stages.

- Ownership of stated technical/cost/reliability/performance requirements of the project.

- Interacting with material planning, purchasing, quality, engineering sub-system teams, drafting and global engineering sites.

- Participate and present in business and design reviews.

- Work with project consisting of electrical components (AC & DC motors, alternators, transformers) and power electronics (SCR, GTO, IGBT)

Desired Skills:

- Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously.

- Solid interpersonal/communication and leadership abilities.

- Strong engineering background and proven experience with leading various technical projects.

- Knowledge of reliability data analysis through statistical modeling.

- Experience/knowledge with general manufacturing processes and business practices.

- Additional experience/knowledge with locomotive systems a plus
