Role Summary:

The candidate will be in a role that will support discovery research by interfacing with Cancer Biology and Cell Engineering groups of Notch in Seattle. This individual will be responsible for advancing Notch s discovery pipeline by performing experiments within the cancer biology group while working closely with other members of the cell therapy team in Seattle.

Key responsibilities:

  • Mammalian cell culture: working with adherent and suspension cell culture, including primary immune cells, and cryopreservation
  • Perform routine in vitro immunological assays such as flow cytometry, ELISA/MSD, and cytotoxicity analysis.
  • Design and execute assays to phenotype T cells following antigen specific T cell activation.
  • Engineer, expand, and maintain primary immune cells and cell lines.
  • Support in vitro assay development. Analyze and present experimental data to our internal team and collaborators.
  • Be a good lab citizen by sharing in lab responsibilities to maintain a well-functioning lab.
  • Comply with standard laboratory practices and company policies, including documentation and maintenance of electronic lab notebook and contribute to support documentation.
  • Proactively recognize and solve technical and scientific issues to assure high quality data.

Qualifications and role requirements:

  • S.in Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Molecular biology or related field with 0-2 years research experience in academia or industry.
  • Experience with primary T cell culture and in vitro assays is desirable.
  • Robust knowledge of CAR and/or engineered T cell signaling is a plus.
  • Experience with standard immunological assays, including multi-color flow cytometry, and MSD.
  • Working knowledge of various software (e.g. FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, FACSDiva).
  • Passionate, self-motivated, collaborative, and determined to do great science.
  • Highly organized and scientifically rigorous with significant attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and think independently.
  • Working safely on a predictable and regular in-person basis is an essential job function for this position.
