Position Summary:

The Senior Engineer - Magento is a key member of the technology team and serves as a hands-on web/app technology thought leader. This is a Player-Coach leader who will develop, plan, and directly implement a digital technology strategy that delivers optimal returns on investment in coordination with the organization s goals and core values with a focus on a customer service orientation.

Areas of responsibility include strategic technology leadership pertaining to digital technologies, leading triage when necessary, and project prioritization and team management.

The role is located in Dallas, TX and this role requires the ability to be present in the office at least three days per week.

Key objectives:

  • Technically lead and develop the digital technology architecture including website, with the ability to translate and communicate business and technical concepts across teams.
  • Design, develop, and optimize Magento-based e-commerce websites and applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security. Implement and maintain third-party extensions, themes, and customizations when necessary. Stay up-to-date with the latest Magento versions, releases, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers.
  • Participate, develop and implement deployment strategies and processes.
  • Lead digital technology support with an eye towards proactive root cause tracking and prevention as well as improving upon performance benchmarks
  • Build and maintain relationships; Collaborate across our Marketing and Technology teams. Navigate challenging situations with professionalism and confidence.

  • Serve as the hands-on thought leader, business partner and team mentor for web and mobile technologies
  • Collaborate with leadership and partners to identify opportunities for leveraging online and mobile application systems to gain a competitive advantage
  • Develop and execute the website architecture aligned with the organization's goals and objectives
  • Ensure digital technologies are efficient, scalable, and maintain data integrity while optimizing priorities, delivery speed and value-based spend
  • Develop and support website solutions (see technical competence section below)
  • Ensure that website/app practices comply with relevant data protection and privacy regulations and security standards and protocols
  • Own and drive support processes around online platforms, with an eye towards continuous improvement and root cause prevention
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members

Skills and Abilities:

  • Track-record of building and supporting technology solutions with a customer service and partnering mindset
  • Depth of experience developing / selecting and implementing digital technology capabilities is required
  • Experience building strong stakeholder relationships
  • Experience in building solutions at a metrics-driven company (especially Private Equity owned) is ideal

Education/Certifications and Work Experience Requirement

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Senior Magento Developer, with hands-on experience in developing and maintaining Magento-based e-commerce solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Magento architecture, customizations, and best practices.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js is a plus.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Bitcuket)
  • Experience with performance optimization techniques, caching strategies, and database optimization.
  • Bachelor s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a related field
