What is your role?

As a Senior Gameplay Engineer for Eleventh Hour Games, you ll be responsible for managing and evolving the game's networking stack, including new feature development, debugging, optimization, and more. You will be encouraged to use your experience and expertise to provide innovative solutions to design and development, help mentor teammates, and drive best practices across the engineering team. The perfect candidate has strong networking experience, excellent communication skills, and autonomy as you will be working with a fully remote team.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of game development experience in a programming role
  • Experience writing networked code for real time multiplayer game
  • Experience working on at minimum two shipped multiplayer titles
  • Strong knowledge of game engine systems and performance as well as data structures and algorithms
  • Proficiency in writing clean, readable, and efficient code
  • Knowledge of fundamental multiplayer concepts such as reliability, congestion, server authority, and interpolation

Pluses

  • Working proficiency in Unity game engine and C# programming language
  • Passion for multiplayer online games and ARPGs in particular a huge plus
  • Experience with creating and maintaining code generation tooling

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and architecture of new features and improvements for the game
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, optimize code, and improve overall game stability
  • Develop editor tools for supporting game design and development needs
  • Provide senior level mentorship to the engineering team Develop systems and processes that improve the game or team's overall efficacy, and raise the bar for best practices
