Satellite System Architect
Our elite client seeks a highly skilledSatellite SystemArchitectfor a permanent, full-time role. Location:Our client, based in our nations capital, Ottawa, ON, our client values collaboration and follows ahybrid work model. Employees work in the office Tuesday, Wednesday to Thursday, with flexible work-from-home onMondays and Fridays - WFH(Non-Negotiable).

Education and Mandatory Experience Required
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in satellite system architecture and design, with a minimum of 8-10 years in similar roles
- Strong knowledge of satellite communication protocols, orbital mechanics, and space systems
- Experience with software defined satellite communication payloads
- Familiarity with regulatory bodies and space industry standards
- CGP security clearance eligible
- Must be Canadian citizen or possess valid permanent resident status
Main Responsibilities
- Define and validate the system architecture and requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals and customer needs. Issue recommendations and influence satellite system design
- Contribute to the design and development of end-to-end communication, resource allocation, network management, service availability, EPFD compliance, satellite payload management, spectrum management, and user terminal integration
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers
- Develop and maintain system architecture documentation, including subsystems definition, interfaces, and data flows
- Plan and collaborate on the integration and testing of all system elements
- Identify and manage technical risks, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans
- Stay current with emerging satellite technologies and contribute innovative ideas
- Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure project success
