As part of our continuous growth, we are looking for a Senior Buyer / Planner to join our manufacturing facility in Irvine. This is an onsite position reporting to the Senior Supply Chain Manager. The Role

  • The Senior Buyer / Planner plays a critical role in overseeing the planning and buying of direct and indirect items and maintaining inventory levels.
  • Meeting and exceeding OTD for customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsible for working with various departments while upholding quality standards and meeting customer demands


The Accountabilities

  • Meeting Customer Demands, timely delivery of products, minimizing lead times, improving customer satisfaction
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels and meet production schedules
  • Cost Control - Accurate demand forecasting to assist with minimizing inventory holding costs, eliminate bottlenecks and contribute to cost savings
  • Support new product development and lifecycle management
  • Improve Production Efficiency - Streamline production processes, reduce waste and optimize production flow
  • Coordination and Collaboration - Manufacturing planning and scheduling, involving cross functional teams
  • Continuous Improvement - Help monitor production performance, evaluating schedules to help areas of opportunities
  • Planning, scheduling, and coordinating production of the company’s products
  • Evaluating raw materials to ensure everything is in place for production
  • Reporting on the production status and any production issues to upper management
  • Handling production disruptions and productivity problems
  • Committed to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Propose and drive supply chain optimization projects


The Typical Experiences

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in buying and planning in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the Medical Device industry
  • Well versed in ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite preferred)
  • Advanced planning skills
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) planning, sourcing and buying
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel with knowledge of data extraction and high-level reporting
  • Advanced knowledge of inventory management (forecasting, planning and reconciliation)
  • Contract negotiations with suppliers
  • Previous Quality Assurance experience in a regulated environment (ISO13485)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Business preferred, or equivalent work experience
