Hiring Manager: Matthew Woo - President, Chief Product Officer

Location: SF or NYC

Summer Health is seeking an exceptional VP of Engineering to lead our engineering team and drive technological innovation in pediatric healthcare. As our VP of Engineering, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our engineering strategy, building a world-class team, and developing cutting-edge solutions that improve children's health outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and vision for Summer Health's engineering organization

  • Collaborate with the executive team to align technology strategy with business goals

  • Lead and mentor the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence

  • Develop and implement scalable, secure, and reliable systems to support our growing platform

  • Drive architectural decisions and technology choices that enable rapid product development

  • Establish best practices for software development, testing, and deployment

  • Oversee the recruitment and retention of top engineering talent

  • Manage vendor relationships and technology partnerships

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in healthcare and software development

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership roles

  • Proven track record of building and scaling engineering teams in fast-growing startups

  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in modern software development practices

  • Experience with healthcare technology, telemedicine, or related fields

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong people management skills with a focus on career development and mentorship

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred

Compensation Range: $230K - $260K
