Position Summary:

The Project Manager - Stormwater Engineering will focus on supporting and developing this practice area into a center of excellence for SW and drainage design, with consistent high-quality project delivery. This position will ensure QA/QC rigor on all project deliverables/submittals. The Project Manager - Stormwater Engineering must strive to meet/exceed goals on business metrics goals for their SW/drainage pool of projects (e.g., utilization, A/R, WIP, etc.). The project manager will also be engaged collaboratively on business development activities to increase the SW/drainage backlog.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Skilled in developing the scopes, schedules, and budgets for stormwater projects, and should be able to clearly articulate these constraints to clients as well as to members of the project team(s) executing the work.

Responsible for all phases of stormwater planning and design, in addition to the management of engineering services during construction.

Proficiency with modeling tools used to assess hydrologic and hydraulic conditions in a given project area

Experience to use software for evaluating viable options for correcting identified drainage problems.

Develop construction documents illustrating the solutions determined with the previously mentioned stormwater modeling software.

Recognize the expected level of detail required at each phase of engineering design and take the appropriate steps to execute the design accordingly, and in a manner that minimizes risk to the firm.

Serve as the technical lead for new proposals, operate as a client service manager to maintain existing relationships, generate new business opportunities, and assist the Department Director with business development initiatives.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 10+ years of experience serving municipal clients with specific emphasis on stormwater planning and design.
  • Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for project work.
