This company is a leading mechanical and plumbing contracting firm, providing high-quality services for commercial and government projects. They are currently seeking a Mechanical and Plumbing Designer to join their growing team. The position is 100% in-office, offering a collaborative environment where team members can thrive.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop mechanical and plumbing design documents for planning, permitting, bidding, and construction.
  • Design HVAC/mechanical and plumbing systems for a wide range of projects, including commercial and government buildings, schools, apartments, and tenant improvements.
  • Design of ductwork, fans, dampers, inlets, and outlets.
  • Design of boiler plants and hydronic piping systems.
  • Design building plumbing systems including water heating, pumps, and gas piping.
  • Develop designs for ductwork and piping hangers and supports.
  • Perform engineering calculations and energy modeling.
  • Create detailed BIM and CAD models for manufacture and assembly.
  • Write construction specifications, project proposals, and design cost estimates.
  • Coordinate closely with installers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in project meetings and collaborate with architects, owners, contractors, and team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical systems, fans, pumps, chiller and boiler systems, and controls.
  • Familiarity with plumbing systems and building codes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with Revit is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Construction field experience is a plus.
