SUMMARY

The Next Stage Design Architectural Designer is a key member of our residential remodeling team, specializing in complex projects such as additions, exteriors, whole-house remodels, and accessory dwelling units. You'll collaborate with senior designers and project managers to produce accurate, detailed construction drawings and documentation for permit submission. This highly collaborative role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with local building departments, structural engineers, and outside architects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Produce architectural drawings for construction permit sets using Chief Architect and adhering to Next Stage drafting standards and local building department requirements.

Perform field measurements and document existing conditions to prepare plan sets that include cover sheet, site plan, existing/proposed plans, roof plan, electrical plan, exterior elevations, sections, and architectural details.

Collaborate with local municipalities to research and understand local building department codes and requirements for permit submission.

Partner with in-house project managers to address plan check comments and coordinate necessary documentation and resources for resubmission

Work closely with external architects and structural engineers, providing direction as needed to create permit sets

Collaborate with project designers on projects with technical architectural elements, such as roof line changes

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Degree in Architecture or related field

3-5 years experience in residential design

3-5 years experience using CAD software

Proficiency with 3D rendering
