Job Summary:

A Field IT Senior Manager is responsible for on-site, day-to-day management, leadership, strategy, and development of the local Field IT team, ensuring delivery of Information Technology connectivity and hardware stability to resort lines of business while creating an excellent employee experience for the team. A successful Field IT Sr. Manager understands how the broader Vail Resorts Information Technology team delivers technology to the business, as well as how the resorts operate, lines of business function, and can articulate and execute on the drivers for success while identifying and overcoming key challenges that stand in the way. The individual must translate this understanding into effective operational support and broader strategy development while creating and leveraging stakeholder relationships that deliver technology excellence for the business. This talented individual will work cross-functionally to support and drive Field IT innovation and development, as well as develop processes and procedures to ensure effective support and analysis for our service delivery. The successful candidate will possess demonstrated leadership skills and experience, a growth mindset, solid technical background, strong project management and financial acumen, and passion for the ski business.

The Field IT Sr. Manager leads a team of 8 analysts and technicians and reports to the Colorado Field IT Group Manager, delivering on the company s technology roadmap in partnership with peer IT leaders including InfoSec and Application Development, as well as Resort Operations management and senior leadership.

Role Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide on-site, day-to-day leadership that supports, develops and inspires the team to deliver IT hardware and connectivity to local resorts and lines of business.
  • Ensure creation and maintenance of team member development plans and goals to support team member growth and success.
  • Provide tactical IT solutions and processes that address immediate challenges.
  • Champion self-created and company-provided IT strategies, that provide IT-related business solutions and remedy potentially reoccurring challenges.
  • Provide strategic direction on all aspects of IT infrastructure in the field including architecture, service delivery standards and processes for the enterprise.
  • Ensure the team is leveraging available tools, dashboards, and data-driven reporting of application, infrastructure and/or support center services for efficient monitoring and troubleshooting of Field IT systems.
  • Ensure team and users effectively and consistently utilize IT work ticket system to facilitate efficient, thorough resolution of problems and show evidence task/workload.
  • Utilize strong communication skills to establish and/or maintain strong partner, stakeholder, and team member relationships and communication channels. Provide candid, effective and appropriate feedback to the same.
  • Establish clear expectations for performance and professionalism (including adherence to company policy); provide accountability to those expectations.
  • Oversee appropriate scheduling of self and team members to ensure service delivery to the business and desirable employee experiences.
  • Develop and maintain goals and standards for your Field IT team s service delivery in cooperation with other IT departments and key stakeholders.
  • Work with business units and application teams to understand service requirements and expectations.
  • Focus on IT process improvement, with a pursuit of resource efficiency, service excellence and pro-active communication to a diverse stakeholder group.
  • Develop strong and productive relationships with IT stakeholders across the local resorts, company lines of business, IT teams, and vendors.
  • Develop and gain buy-in with key stakeholders on multi-year roadmaps.
  • Establish and support change management process in conjunction with application and infrastructure teams.
  • Project management ensuring projects are completed to budget, timelines, quality standards; communicate risks and progress to business stakeholders.
  • Team budget management and oversight.
  • Proactively manage all Information Security, compliance and data privacy obligations.
  • Follow processes provided by the Info-Sec teams in support of the company s security practices.
  • Ensure the creation and/or maintenance of equipment inventories and system documentation.
  • Understanding of Modern IT Service Delivery tools and strategies (Endpoint management, Identify and Access Management, Asset Management)

Job Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5+ years of supervisory and leadership experience, and relevant work experience, including proven ability to successfully lead and oversee critical projects and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Solution oriented with desire to learn new skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Technology, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise and Operational technologies, including (Networking, End Point Management, Wireless Access, Telecom, Cellular Access, POS (Point of Sale), Mobile Device Management, including handheld scanners).
  • Strong vendor and contract management leadership.
  • Ski or snowboard at an intermediate level.

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $111,900 - $130,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
